Eco friendly cars

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

When nations are talking about global warming and high rates of pollution due to vehicle emissions today one need to reach a conclusion as to what is important. Statistics show that more than half of the pollutions are caused by vehicles and as such one need to look at ways of decreasing this.

The Indian automobile industry has shown no friendliness towards the environment and comes to less than half of green revolution.

*Car companies need to make sure that their maintenance fees are not high as that will make people to ignore regular servicing.

*The fuel quality is also responsible for pollution therefore one must ensure that the quality of fuel one use is good.

With the present cars as they are, one can only make sure they do not cause damage than what is absolutely necessary. Eco friendly cars are needed in today’s world as global warming continues to rise alarmingly.

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Life is never out of music and tuning into the FM stations while you are coming back from work is a usual thing. Satellite radio installations have made rides more joyous and easy.

Connecting your radio to an antenna is all it takes to get into the groove. While and expert would be the one doing the fitting you can certainly give it a try. Installing a small antenna is not that difficult and the next thing you got to do is plug the wire to the FM radio. It will take some time to acquire the signal but once done you are never out of music.

A satellite connection gives you a faster connection and more clear frequency. The installation tools do not require much spending too but boring car rides are made lively. While woofers will consume the battery to a large extent a radio will be a lot cheaper and healthier.

The first thing that you should do before going for a trip in your car is to make it comfortable. Take it to a servicing if you have not done so in the recent past and make sure the engine is working well.

As a vacationer, you need to keep your drive in the best of shape and color. Wash it thoroughly. Just before you start out see that the fuel tank is full and you have more stores in the back. Are American cars worse than other quality foreign cars?

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Should General Motors and Ford build better cars? According to a survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates on the reliability of American cars, some problems have been exposed which are faced by American cars owners.

According to this survey, some of the top ranking American luxury cars are Lexus, Lincoln, Buick, Cadillac and Nissan’s Infiniti. Products of Ford and General Motors were not to be seen anywhere on the list.

The motor companies such as Toyota, Subaru and Suzuki are seen above Pontiac in reliability ratings. Hummer and Saturn which are GM manufactured vehicles are also considered as below average cars.

Reasons for failure in quality of cars made by Ford and General Motors have been brought up. They have a bad reputation as in where quality is considered. But these bigger banners also have many eyes on them. Like General Motors is a leading auto company and if this big fish makes a default in a car, then the sales are surely affected at global edge.

Hike in CNG may halt Green Initiative

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Big auto players yearning to make their cars go green with green technology received a setback seeing the rising price of CNG. Compressed Natural Gas is soon to be inflated heavily with an increase of nearly 20%.

The news brought a heart-shaky situation to most automobile manufacturers as they had grand plans of coming up with factory fitted CNG kit cars. At present, there are some cars which are already running successful on such kits. These are Mahindra Logan, Chevrolet Aveo, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Innova and Corolla Altis among others.

Missing infrastructure for these CNG based vehicles, is a great halt in way of sales of CNG vehicles. But the price of CNG still makes it one of the economical fuel options when compared to conventional auto fuels like petrol and diesel.

With lacks of CNG vehicles running on roads today can a hike in CNG make a halt to this green initiative? The question is niggling and vexing for manufacturers as well as consumers.

How to Clean Car Windscreens

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

Car wind screens are as essential as any other part of the car. It is the windscreen that helps the driver see where he is driving to. Due to this the windscreen should be as clean as ever. The windscreen can be dirty due to a number of reasons. On the outside it may be due to mud, snow and any other form of dirt while on the inside, kit can be attributed to a number of reasons including the little angels who proudly acquire the title “weapons of mass destructions” since they never spare anything in their way.

When cleaning the outside of the car windscreen, have in your possession, some vinegar (white), glass cleaner and dry pieces of cloth. Apply the cleaner then wash it off using plenty of water, wait till it dries then put some vinegar the piece of cloth gently clean the surface.

There is a washer on the car that can be used to clean off mud and dried using wipers. This is especially the case when the car is on the move. The inside of the car can be cleaned in more or less the same way only that you use newspapers instead of pieces of cloth. While cleaning, remember to do it in a circular motion.
